Paragon Laboratories, Inc. Announces the Addition of New Analytical Service Offerings

Paragon Laboratories, Inc. is pleased to announce the addition of the following test procedures to our analytical service offerings, effective immediately.

In addition, these new services are being added to Paragon’s ISO/IEC 17025:2017 Scope of Accreditation by A2LA (Lab ID 2705.01).  We anticipate that the reaccreditation renewal process will be completed by July 2019.

In part, these tests are offered as more precise alternatives to ASTM D1319 for determining the aromatic, olefin, and saturate hydrocarbons in liquid fuels.  As you may already be aware, the manufacturer of the fluorescent indicator dyed silica gel used in ASTM D1319 suspended production and sale of the product until a replacement FIA dye is validated.  As the supplies of the validated dye lots dwindle, making D1319 less available, the alternative methodologies provide an attractive replacement.

In addition, by using ASTM-published correlation equations, results reported as “Predicted D3606 Benzene” by ASTM D5769 and “Predicted D1319 Total Olefins” by D6550 may be used when reporting these two parameters for compliance with USEPA fuels programs.  Greater detail about each of the tests listed above is provided on the reverse side of this announcement.
