DIBROMOCHLOROPROPANE (DBCP) TESTING SERVICES
Dibromochloropropane (DBCP) is a synthetic organic compound controlled in drinking water under the National Primary Drinking Water Regulations. DBCP was used primarily as soil fumigant for many crops including: cucumbers, cabbage, soybeans, cotton, pineapples, and orchards.
DBCP acute exposures have the potential to cause damage to the liver and kidneys and atrophy of the testes.
DBCP chronic exposures have the potential to cause damage to the kidneys, as well as cause infertility. Additionally, there is evidence that EDB may have the potential to cause cancer from chronic exposures.
DBCP is often referred to by other names, including: BBC 12, Fumagon, Fumazone, Nemabrom, Nemafum, Nemagon, Nemanax, Nemapaz, Nemaset, Nemazon, Gro-Tone Nematode, and Durham Nematocide
